Who is Upgrade?

Upgrade is a financial technology company that offers affordable and responsible credit to mainstream consumers through cards and personal loans, together with free credit monitoring and education tools that help consumers better understand and manage their finances.

Upgrade has partnered with Acorn Finance to provide affordable financing options (“Moving Loans”) to qualified customers for their moving project with PODS.

What offers are available through Upgrade?

Through this partnership with Acorn Finance, we are offering a 12 month loan with 0% APR* which has no payments due for up to 6 months from the date the loan account is opened, which is the date your loan application is approved.

Moving costs from PODS can be billed to your loan within 6 months of loan account opening. Payments will be due when the 6 month period ends, your moving costs exceed the approved loan amount, or your move is completed (whichever happens first).

Please note that IF YOUR MOVE IS SCHEDULED FOR MORE THAN 180 DAYS FROM TODAY’S DATE, you will not be able to use a Moving Loan (if you are approved) to finance your move with PODS. HOWEVER, you may apply for the loan closer to your move date.

How does the 0% for 12 months financing product work?

0% APR* for 12 months offer has no payments due for up to 6 months from the date the loan account is opened.

If you are approved for and accept this offer, charges from PODS will be paid from your loan during the move for up to 6 months from the date the loan account is opened, or until your moving costs exceed your approved loan amount, whichever happens first. After that, you have 12 months to pay back the total amount that was used for the move in monthly installments.

If your move takes longer than 6 months from the date the loan account is opened or the moving costs exceed your approved loan amount (whichever happens first), any additional costs, including recurring monthly rental fees, will be charged to your credit card on file.

Will my credit score be impacted if I apply for Upgrade's loan?

Checking your offers won’t impact your credit score. When you check to see what offer(s) you may qualify for, we perform a soft inquiry on your credit report, which won’t impact your credit score. Soft inquiries can only be seen by you. When you accept your offer and sign loan documents, we perform a second soft inquiry which also does not impact your credit score. Once your loan is approved, we perform a hard inquiry on your credit report, which may impact your credit score and can be viewed by third parties.

At what point in the purchase process will my credit report be impacted by an application for an Upgrade Moving Loan?

When you check your offer with Upgrade, we perform a soft inquiry on your credit report. A soft inquiry will not impact your credit score and can only be seen by you. If you accept a loan offer and submit your bank account information, we perform a second soft inquiry. Only when a loan is funded do we perform a hard inquiry on your credit report, which may impact your credit score.

How do I serve my Upgrade Moving Loan?

When you apply for a loan with Upgrade, you will create an account with Upgrade and get access to your Upgrade dashboard which includes your loan details such as balance, available credit, payment due amount and due date. You can see the Documents section of the dashboard for your Loan documents, including the Borrower Agreement and TILA Disclosure.

You have the flexibility to make payments in a number of different ways.

Set up autopay to make sure you never miss a payment and avoid late penalties. Login to your Upgrade account and set up autopay in your dashboard.

For one time payments that you’ll make each month you can:

  • Pay online in your dashboard

  • Pay by phone: call (844) 347-0509

  • Pay by mail: Payment by check may be made by sending a personal check: (1) by standard US Mail to: Upgrade, Inc., Lbx#452210, P.O. Box 52210, Phoenix, AZ 85072-2210, or (2) by courier (FedEx, UPS, etc.) to: Upgrade, Inc., Attn: Batching Dept. lbx#452210, 530 W Alameda Dr., Suite 105, Tempe, AZ 85282. We may change these addresses from time to time and notify you of the new address for payments.

Are there any fees associated with an Upgrade Moving Loan?

There are no pre-payment or cancellation fees associated with Moving Loans provided through Upgrade.

What states does Upgrade lend in?

All US based long distance PODS moving and storage orders are eligible to be financed, except for moves that originate in Rhode Island, Iowa, Washington DC, Massachusetts or Nevada.
